De-Matting Policy
Excessive de-matting can be a very painful and dangerous process for your pet, even when done by a professional. We will not attempt to de-matt excessive matting. We will assess each case individually and discuss options with you. We do not offer a groom without doing a full brushing; it is against our policies to leave in the matts. If we are unable to brush out the matts, the hair will have to be cut. The length of the haircut will depend on how much space there is between the matt and the skin’s surface (usually matts are very close to the skin, making the cut extremely short).
Pet behavior and stress policy
For the benefit of both the pet and the stylist, we will not continue working with vicious or aggressive pets and may refuse service. If a pet is upset, we may skip any stressful procedure or take a “time out” before we continue. We do not use tranquilizers.
The safety and happiness of existing clients is always our priority and as such, we reserve the right to refuse services at any time to a client who’s pet does not meet our criteria for good conduct.
Your pet’s safety and comfort are our primary concern. Please advise us of any allergies, sensitive skin or pre-existing medical conditions. Also, let us know of any past negative grooming experiences. We want to avoid repeating any unpleasant experiences you or your pet may have had.
cancellation policy
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy and may require a credit card to hold appointment.
Same Day Cancellations and No Shows are subject to a fee of 50% of your booked service.
*If we do not have a credit card on file, the fee will have to be paid before booking your next appointment.
*Please note late appointments can not always be accommodated and are subject to a late fee
*Unconfirmed appointments will be cancelled, we are not able to accommodate unconfirmed appointments
After your second no show or cancellation, you will be required to prepay for any grooming services 24 hours before your appointment. Prepayment is non-refundable.
Spaw Boutique Inc. Waiver and Release of Liability
Please read the terms of the Disclosure and Liability Release carefully before signing.
At Spaw Boutique Inc, your pet’s safety and well-being is our priority. Every effort will be made to make your pet’s visit a safe and happy one. Prior to having your pet(s) groomed at Spaw Boutique Inc, please read and agree to the following Waiver and Liability Release and our Terms of Service.
Disclosure for Grooming Services.
Health of Your Pet(s): I have informed Spaw Boutique Inc of any health challenges my pet(s) have and will continue to do so if/when new health challenges arise.
Aggressive Pet(s)/ Parasites: I understand that Spaw Boutique Inc. reserves the right to refuse service, or to stop services in progress, if my pet poses a threat to themselves, other pets or Spaw Boutique Inc staff, either by aggression or other behaviour issues or any health problem such as parasites.
Matted Coats: I agree that if my pet(s) are presented to be groomed in a "matted", "oily", "contaminated" or otherwise anomalous condition, I give consent to authorise Spaw Boutique Inc. to clip my pet(s) to a shorter length or shave as is necessary (in Spaw Boutique’s Inc opinion) to remove the matted coat. Specific product(s) during the bathing process may also be used. While the groomer will exercise caution and their duty of care, I am aware that due to the coat condition, my pet(s) may be cut or have an adverse reaction to the above product(s). Additionally, there could be skin issues below the matting that the groomers were unable to see. Clipping a matted pet can also increase the risk of haematomas.
I understand that any groomer at Spaw Boutique Inc. performing services will not be held responsible for clipper burn and/or nicks resulting from grooming of matted coats and/or neglected coats. They will also not be responsible for irritation caused by removing such coats from pets possessing skin allergies, nor will Spaw Boutique Inc. be held responsible for stressful effects such grooming may have upon a pet. I acknowledge that in the unlikely event that any of these outcomes occur, Spaw Boutique Inc. will obtain immediate veterinary treatment and any such veterinary treatment for my pet(s) will be at my expense.
Risks to Pets. General Grooming Risks: Great Care will be taken when performing any grooming procedure, however, I understand that possible reactions such as stress and skin irritation, as well as possible nicks to the skin, or toenail quicks may be cut. Additionally, problems occasionally arise after the grooming visit such as clipper irritation as well as mental and/or physical stress. Grooming can also expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. I agree not to hold Spaw Boutique Inc or any individual performing services responsible for any injuries which might result from the grooming process. The groomer will inform clients if they are aware of nicks, quicks cut etc.
Ageing and Special Needs Pets: I am aware that as pets age or if pets have special medical conditions, the process of grooming may become stressful, both physically and mentally for my pet(s). The stress of grooming may cause latent, unknown, active or inactive conditions such as arthritis, bone or joint pain, unknown active or inactive heart, kidney, or liver disorders to become active and can result in illness, seizures, or the death of my pet(s). Although Spaw Boutique Inc will take responsible care in the grooming of my pet(s), I acknowledge that the stress of grooming may initiate immediate or latent medical problems in my pet(s). I agree not to hold Spaw Boutique Inc. or any individual performing services responsible for reactions from grooming.
Moles/Skin Lesions/Tumours/Other Skin Irregularities: Because skin irregularities may protrude from the skin, they are vulnerable to nicks or cuts during the grooming process; I agree not to hold Spaw Boutique Inc. or any individual performing services responsible for any cuts or nicks and skin reactions/irritations due to the grooming process.
Owner Responsibility: I agree to be solely responsible and liable for any and all acts of behaviour by my pet(s). This may include but is not limited to injury or death to my pet(s), injury or death to another pet, or injury or death to any individual providing services at Spaw Boutique, or other members of public using Spaw Boutique Inc’s salon. If my pet is hurt or becomes ill, Spaw Boutique Inc. reserves the right to administer first aid and procure veterinary services should it become necessary. If my pet receives treatment, medication, or other attention I agree to pay all expenses directly to the veterinarian and will not hold Spaw Boutique Inc or any individual providing services responsible or liable for any resulting expense.
Grooming Enclosures: I agree and understand my pet(s) may be placed in grooming enclosures before and/or after grooming services for the safety of my pet(s).
Additional Charges: I understand Spaw Boutique Inc. reserves the right to charge additional fees for services considered over and above the normal standard rates. This could be difficultly in grooming due to behaviour, skin condition, coat condition, or matting.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy: I understand and agree that if I fail to show up for my scheduled appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice I will be charged a cancellation fee of up to 50 % of the cost of the service.
Late Pick Up: When dropping off my pet(s) I will be given a timeframe for completion of services. I understand Spaw Boutique Inc. requests that all dogs are collected within thirty minutes of being informed my pet is ready (unless otherwise arranged). A late pick up fee could be incurred. I agree to present my dog with a correctly fitting collar or harness.
Note: This waiver applies to all members of the family that cares for the pet(s).
